Parada de Copa Rio: Steak, Cheese and Pineapple Sandwiches
At Parada de Copa in Copacabana, we ordered a steak, cheese and pineapple sandwich, a roast beef sandwich and a 600 ml Original beer. The steak sandwich was the clear favourite. This was a substantial evening meal in a relaxed boteco, rather than a small snack between sightseeing stops.
The sandwich begins at the preparation counter
We watched large slices of beef going into the sandwiches. The meat was not hidden behind an oversized roll: bread was there to hold a serious filling.
That was part of the pleasure of finding the place. The preparation already told us that a sandwich here could be a main meal.
Why pineapple made sense
Steak brings a strong meat flavour, melted cheese adds richness and salt, and pineapple introduces sweetness and acidity. In this sandwich, we liked how the fruit kept the whole thing from feeling only rich and heavy.

Our steak had not been cooked dry. It retained a little pinkness inside and enough moisture for the large slices to stay enjoyable. The pineapple made it feel distinctly connected to the Rio sandwiches we were exploring.
Roast beef was good; steak was our return order
We also tried roast beef. We enjoyed it, but if we returned with time for only one sandwich, we would choose the steak, cheese and pineapple combination.

The sandwiches came cut into halves. They were generous portions, so do not picture a small toastie when you plan the rest of the day’s food.
A table, a beer and local evening life
The room felt like somewhere people came to eat, drink beer and talk. Although the address is in central Copacabana, our visit felt closer to a neighbourhood bar evening than a meal staged for tourists.

We ordered a 600 ml Original beer with the food. The informal setting suited substantial sandwiches and a drink without making dinner feel complicated.
House sauces added another detail
The restaurant’s own hot sauce and mustard caught our attention. Handwritten dates on the bottles were another small part of the meal we remembered.

We would return for the steak sandwich itself, and those individual touches helped distinguish the place. It showed us a food idea we would love to see explored more often in Turkey.
Our take on the value
For the size of the filling and the meal we had in Copacabana, we felt we received good value. We are keeping that as a visit impression, rather than attaching a current price to an old order.
We would happily go back knowing exactly what to order: filé mignon com queijo e abacaxi.
